So far, Richard has been an amazing tutor for our 15 year old son Simon. He?s patient and always has great suggestions! We haven?t quite found the perfect way to help him yet, but Richard keeps trying and isn?t giving up on him, which is priceless! Truly, getting Richard to help Simon is one of the best decisions we have made for our son. Thank you and we are looking forward to many more lessons with you!

Didn't go over a lot of new deep insights, but Richard did give me some very helpful refreshers on tricks for maintaining focus, and some specific numbers to use when setting boundaries, which was nice.
- Nick L. from Kirkland, WA
My son has been working with Richard for several weeks and I already can see improvements, it is a slow process but the help that he has provided is invaluable and his knowledge and understanding of my son's needs have made every single lesson worthwhile. Lastly, I can say that Richard has given me answers about my son that I have been searching for years and I am following his recommendations. Thank you for your dedication.

My son is a hard nut to crack, my 16 years old has this magical thinking about everything is going to work out even though his missing HWs are going to bury him. Rick has a lot of patient with him and trying to tap into what motivates him to do the work he needs to do. My son from very resisting the change now he is talking about the change. Big progress to make. The next thing is to actually change.

Richard has been tutoring my son for several months now in math and helping him better understand how his ADHD brain works. He is able to teach in a calm, creative and patient way that makes my son feel understood and capable of learning. He enjoys Richard's style and personality, which helps him stay more engaged that usual. Thank you so much, Ricard!

He makes learning fun and he is very nice. He has helped me to improve very much with my reading and with my sounds. Now I'm a better reader. He is patient and can be funny and that makes learning more enjoyable.

Today was my son?s introductory session with Mr. G. The summary from the initial session was quite insightful. My son reported that Mr G was very approachable and kind.
- Dru H. from Chapel Hill, NC
My son had a wonderful first session w/ Richard. I was surprised at how much they were able to unpack regarding Andrew's learning issues in one discussion. He also seemed to bring my son into the program and onboard w/ working together. I'm very appreciative!
- Rachel S. from Brookline, MA
Richard was able to gauge my daughter's level of comprehension. He made her feel comfortable during the lesson. She didn't feel overwhelmed or nervous. He also provided suggestions on tools and resources to assist with the tutoring.
- Michelle H. from Fort Washington, MD
He helped challenge my son, stimulated his cognitive senses and go beyond his comfort zone. He made the session lively and interactive. This was a great way for my kid to stay engaged.

Reading?has?usually?been?a?struggle?for?my?daughter,?who?is?on?the?Autism?Spectrum.??But?after?working?a?couple?of?months?of?working?with?Richard,?or?"Rick"?as?we?usually?call?him,?I?have?noticed?my?daughter's?reading?significantly?improving.??Rick?is?teaching?my daughter reading, history and geography. He has an interest in Native American?studies?and?he?has?collected?several?materials?related?to?this?subject.??He?combines?information?about?different?tribes?with?maps?and?pictures?that?give?my?daughter?an?understanding?and?an?appreciation?of?the?history,?people?and geography she reads about. Because Rick is a retired school psychiatrist, he has also?spoken?to?me?and?has?given?me?many?insights?about?how?to?handle?issues?affecting my daughter's learning. Rick was the first person to notice and suggest that?my?daughter?might?have?a?visual?tracking?problem. He recommended that I have?her?checked?because?it?might?be?affecting?her?ability?to?read.??He?also?suggested?that?because?she?is?verbal?and?high?functioning,?that?she?might?not?benefit?from?traditional?forms?of?ABA?like?token?economy?systems.??Which helped to answer many of the questions I had when I noticed she didn't seem to be benefiting from the traditional ABA methods that were being used in her ABA program with her school district. Rick is an excellent reading tutor for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Richard was working with my 7th grader on pre algebra. It was our first session and he was grumbling and NOT happy. I could hear him explaining things in a way my son was getting. He got off his session smiling, and happy!

Richard works hard to understand and motivate my son. He always comes prepared and I have started to see a change in my son?s study habits. He is very student focused and asks careful questions to try and get my son to make lifestyle changes.

Richard taught our son GeometryHN and study skills. He is very patient, understanding in helping our son learn the subject. Richard was also very flexible to accommodate our scheduling requests. Most importantly, our son likes tutoring, which in itself reflects Richard?s affable personality. Great Tutor!!!
