I have majored in Western Literature (primarily American and British novels) and have also studied French as well as Latin in college. After I moved to the U.S., I learned Korean, Spanish and other languages. While my passion is to continue learning various languages, I love to share Japanese culture and language with people from different cultures. I have taught the diverse group of individuals in private, and sometimes I worked for the Japanese language institution as well as for the compan...
Noritaka sensei helped me a lot in JLPT prep and I learnt a lot from him. He is a great tutor decoding the questions step by step. He helped me prepare grammar, vocabulary, listening and reading.
- Ara Z. from San Jose, CA
Noritaka-san is very patient in explaining the key areas to focus during the lessons so that it is easy for me to retain in my mind. Thank you so much Sensei.
- Lily C. from Lisle, IL
I thoroughly enjoyed my first lesson with Sensei Noritaka. He has an easy manner and is very clear and logical in his approach to introducing a learner to the various Japanese alphabets and their nuances. I?m very excited for my next lesson
- Orla L. from Scottsdale, AZ
Off to a great start in our first lesson. Encourages questions and is open enough to just laugh and enjoy our time in the lesson. Will be continuing my Japanese language education with him. Would definitely recommend him to any beginners.
- Elijah D. from Richmond, VA
?????? is very thorough with his teaching and very patient. He explains things carefully. Five star for sure. I have been working with him for half a year now and will continue to do so.
- Siyi L. from Simi Valley, CA
Due to the similarities of Korean and Japanese, I was looking for a tutor who could speak both languages. Noritaka can speak English and Korean fluently, so he mixed them in during my lesson for better explanations on certain things I had a difficult time understanding. I highly recommend!
- Sunmin I. from Los Angeles, CA
He is a great teacher. Having studied some Japanese before I still retained some of what I learned and he is working with me to reinforce and make sure I know the basics. So that I one day can aspire to be fluent in Japanese.
- Austin L. from Media, PA
Common words and phrases in Japanese for regular life and business occasions. Good lesson. Good sensei. Thank you. Looking forward to next lesson on Wednesday
- Jorge L. from Baton Rouge, LA
I really enjoyed my first lesson with Noritaka Sensei. It has been a long time since I studied Japanese and I feel like I'm well on my way to improving my Japanese language skills. I'm very much looking forward to the next session!
- Sherri S. from Takoma Park, MD
Worked on grammar that I?ve learned but don?t normally use. This has helped me bring it more into my conversation.
- Eduardo C. from Mountain View, CA
Norikata was very patient with my son in the first lesson. He took time to get know my son?s interest and short term and long term goals. We are looking forward to more lessons.
- Hong J. from Champlin, MN
Over the last 3 weeks, Mr. Noritaka has helped me with sentence structure, how to ask and answer basic questions about time and age, and we have gone over honorifics and pronunciation. You can't beat speaking with a native speaker and Mr. Noritaka has been great!
- Stephen F. from Mckinney, TX
I needed help with an interview and Mr. Noritaka chatted with me prior to the lesson to understand what I was looking for help and came prepared with excellent questions and helped me walk through all of them. It was exactly what I needed and I truly appreciate him working with me!
- Jessica B. from Austin, TX
Studying with Noritaka-Sensei is the best decision I have made concerning my Japanese studies! In a little less than 3 months, Sensei has helped me tremendously improve. I went from knowing my hiragana to actually being able to engage in simple conversations in such a short time! Sensei is extremely patient, understanding, and knowledgeable. Learning a language can be a stressful, daunting task, and it?s easy to feel embarrassed when you make mistakes. However, because Sensei helped me learn so much from my mistakes, it makes the learning environment comfortable and productive so that I am not scared of being wrong, but more motivated to get it right next time. I also love how Sensei structures the classes to suit every student. Unfortunately my studying timeframe was very short before I embark to Japan, but Sensei helped me find the perfect balance between practicing speaking, writing, and reading, using the textbook as a guide. If your goal is mostly conversational speaking for example, Sensei can help you focus specifically on those areas to help you reach your goal. Sensei also often goes on educational tangents; if a grammar or vocabulary point comes up not discussed in the textbook, he explains it in a simple, understandable way to give context to what we?re learning. Some people may not like the idea of going ?off topic?, but I find this way of learning very natural and informs you in a much more holistic way if native-like fluency is your goal in the future. I learned so many little subtleties or nuances typical in the Japanese language that I didn?t when I studied in a traditional classroom. No class is ever exactly the same and I love that! Sensei is a native Japanese speaker, but because he also studied English so extensively, I found that he was really good at explaining concepts thoroughly to native English speakers, instead of taking the easy way out of ?that?s just the way it is in Japanese.? Overall, I cannot recommend Sensei enough! I looked forward to class every week. I am going to study abroad in Japan for one semester starting this week, and Sensei?s fantastic guidance makes me confident that I will have a good foundation to build on. Sensei, I can?t wait to show you how much I will have improved 5 months from now. ?????????????

Noritaka-Sensei has been awesomely patient and knowledgeable in explaining Japanese concepts concisely and with wider real-life examples to further illustrate contexts. He is very resourceful in explaining even the tiniest nuances I felt unclear on, and he?s a lot of fun to talk to as well. Very satisfied, very highly recommended!!
- Jean S. from Renton, WA
We like that Noritaka-Sensei is flexible in his teaching, and he explains things really well to help with understanding the material. We?re so happy we found him!
- Laura E. from Springfield, NH
Another good lesson from Noritaka Sensei! So far from discussing my needs from every lesson to how much I want him to guide the lessons he has done excellently. Recommend!
- Robert R. from Boulder, CO
He helped my son with the correct way of saying things. My son has taken to lessons with him. My son now does not feel like he is behind. Thank you for helping him feel better about the class.
- Cindy C. from Azusa, CA
Noritaka-San did a great job evaluating my son?s level and recommended a course of action. Best of all my son said he loved the lesson and is excited to get back into Japanese.
- Bart C. from Blue Bell, PA
I am planning on taking the JLPT in December and will be doing some consulting work in Japan. I sought Noritaka-sensei's help in preparing for the test as well as learning to communicate effectively in Japanese. After 11 lessons, I wholeheartedly recommend him. He is a native Japanese speaker and has studied several languages. His English is fluent, and he understands how to master a language. His teaching style is personable and flexible, and his knowledge of grammar and linguistic fine points is exceptional. I searched diligently for an excellent tutor, and I am very happy I found Noritaka ??. I look forward to working with him for many more lessons. Whatever level of Japanese instruction you need, Noritaka ?? is an excellent choice!
